Low Rider
The main concept for this running bike is: phat, over-the-top, biker-attitude.
Running bikes are very good for children’s balance, and prepares them for riding a real bike. But looking at the available running bikes for purchase, they all had these slim tires. I wanted to create a more bad-ass motorcycle-type-of-look, so the basis for this project became the two black PU sack truck wheels.
The frame is made of 22mm plywood, which gives the bike a sleek, yet bold appearance. The heavy PU wheels are complemented by the sleek frame, while the angular design emanates speed and acceleration.
